shortcut fail
lackoflove: dustbetweenthewires: Why, in gCal in Safari, when I click a day to add a new event, type a description, tab to the Calendar pull-down, then hit tab again, do I wind up in the Location bar? I want to be on the “Create Event” button, so I can just hit ENTER and be done! It works correctly in Firefox and Opera…WTF, Safari? WTF?! Go to… Safari > Preferences > Advanced >...

mistakes
Stupid mistakes you can laugh about: OK. Stupid mistakes that take 90 minutes to find, wasting much of your evening: not OK. In case there was any doubt, just wanted to clear that up.

mail
Have you ever opened a Compose window in your email client, only to lose track of it before entering any information? Then later in the day, you find the window and can’t remember who you were going to mail or what you were going to say? I hate that…

The Designers Republic has folded
lackoflove: TDR, the British creative agency responsible for the typography and icons/logos in the Wipeout videogame series (among many other fine pieces of design), has folded. Their work in Wipeout helped create the look of the PlayStation brand, and on a personal level is responsible for my interest in graphic design and modern art. Damn you, global economic crisis. RIP :(

The first full month during which our hot tub was turned off has elapsed. The bill came to $109.74, which is about half what it typically was during the winter months, nicely in line with my estimate. I am glad to have missed a great fall sailing day to save a few hundred bucks. I will simply make up for that day next year. Yay.

Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year to everyone out there. My New Year’s resolution for 2009 is to have a good year. I figure this should be easily attainable, since “good” is relative and abstract. I think I’m on the right track so far to succeed. :)
